We catch a lot of pollack on both the reefs and wrecks whilst lure fishing off Ilfracombe, the size of the pollack does vary from year to year but the average size is around 2lb but we do catch them into double figures the largest I’ve boated off Ilfracombe on an inshore reef was 13Lbs caught on a light spinning rod and soft plastic FiiIsh Black Minow. They are Awesome fun and fight great on the right gear often stripping considerable amounts of line off the real.
